Reel Opportunities
Effects Department
Responsible for all the Special and Visual Effects that go into a film.
On set, Special Effects professionals deal with the practical effects that are used during shooting. This might include anything from a dead body on the set of a medical drama, to an explosion or gunshot in a crime thriller, to a thunderstorm recreated in studio. During post-production, another group of Visual Effects professionals work on adding computer-generated effects, animated elements, or backgrounds in green-screen shots.
