Electrical Department
Responsible for executing the cinematographer’s lighting plans.
The Gaffer and other members of the Electrical department work alongside the Grip department under the direction of the Cinematographer. Their main job is to manage the electrical connections and systems for the entire set, and to set up the lighting for each shot. This includes everything from casting shadows to create a specific mood, figuring out how to make it feel like a certain time of day, or illuminating the main actor when they are speaking.
